Considerable time and effort were spent with
many families facing crises as they were in need of urgernt advice
and counselling. Over the past years more than 300 families were
assisted to solve their problems, which centred essentially on
substance abuse and marital relationships. Sensitive issues such
as marital discord, extra marital relationships, unlawful living
partners, alcoholism were some of the main issues that were identified
and addressed.
Today, all over the world, more than ever, the family unity is
under heavy stress and crying out for help, and Navjyothi Seva
Samithi is doing its best to preserve family harmony in the Durga
Nagar area.

|
Apart from Free Family Counselling, Free Individual

effort were spent with many families and individuals who were
facing crises and who are in need of urgent advice and counsel.

in their problems, which centred essentially on substance abuse
and marital relationship.

the slums to discuss and share their problems. Also we conduct
health education and aware ness classes. There is a Small Savings
Scheme started for the ladies to develop their habit of savings.
At present 136 ladies are the members of this scheme.

Every year on Christmas Day Gifts are distributed
to more than 1000 poor children from different slums in and around
Chennai. On Christmas time we visit the nearby villages and slums
and present each child with sweets and presents. Through this
we spread the message of Christmas to the children and their families
of remote places.

In our Navjyothi Primary School, we have an expense
of about Rs. 4,000 per student in a year. You can donate Rs. 3,650
and meet the expense of a child's education. This will cover all
the expense of a child's dress, books, study materials, medical
aid, and also a one-time nutritious meal for the whole year.
Through this, you not only help
a poor and needy child in attaining its right to education, but
also a family who can never afford the expense for their child's
education. Your proper action can help a poor child enjoy its life
in school, instead of toiling as labourers somewhere else.
If you prefer, you will receive the picture and details of the child
you sponsor.
|
|
Share your happy moments with this tiny tots. You
can even visit them in your and your family members' birthday,
wedding anniversary, etc. and share the noon meal with them. Donate
Rs. 1,200 for a one-day noon meal for the whole children in the
school. They will remember you gratefully for the great privilege
you give them.
